PNPA Cadet Application 2024 : Qualifications, Benefits, and Process :- The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is the premier public safety school in the Philippines. It is tasked to provide tertiary level education to Filipinos aspiring to be officers in the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The PNPA was established on August 26, 1977, under Section 19, PD 1184. It is located in Camp General Mariano Castañeda, Silang, Cavite, Philippines.
Admission to the PNPA
To be admitted to the PNPA, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Natural-born Filipino citizen
- Must be 18-22 years old before June 1 of the year of admission
- At least a Senior High School (SHS) graduate before admission
- Single with no parental obligation
- Minimum barefoot height of 5’2″ for males and 5’0″ for females
Applicants must also pass a series of entrance examinations, including the PNPA Cadet Admission Test (PCAT), the Psychological Examination, and the Physical Fitness Test.
PNPA Curriculum
PNPA cadets undergo a four-year tertiary education course, allowing them to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Safety. The curriculum is designed to prepare cadets for their future careers as law enforcement officers, including courses in criminal justice, criminology, police science, and public administration.
Cadets also undergo rigorous physical and mental training to prepare them for the demands of police work. They are taught basic police skills, such as firearms handling, self-defense, and arrest and control techniques. They also participate in various field exercises and simulations to develop their teamwork and leadership skills.
Graduation and Commissioning
Upon graduation from the PNPA, cadets are commissioned as Police Lieutenants in the PNP. They may also be assigned to other public safety agencies, such as the PPSC, BJMP, and BFP.
The PNPA has produced many distinguished alumni, who have gone on to serve in various leadership positions in the Philippine law enforcement community. It is considered to be one of the most prestigious schools in the Philippines, and its graduates are highly respected for their dedication to public service.

Overview of the PNPA
The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) serves as the initial phase for individuals aspiring to become public safety officers in three esteemed departments of the country: the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). Those aspiring to join these departments undergo training as cadets at the PNPA.
Every year, the PNPA selects qualified applicants to become scholars who will receive various benefits funded by the government throughout their study and training period. These scholars pursue a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety (BSPS), a four-year degree program that imparts comprehensive knowledge on ensuring public safety in the Philippines.
Qualifications for PNPA Cadet Admission 2024
To be Eligible for PNPA Cadet admission, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Natural-born Filipino citizen
- Must be 18-22 years old before June 1 of the year of admission
- At least a Senior High School (SHS) graduate before admission
- Single with no parental obligation
- Minimum barefoot height of 5’2″ for males and 5’0″ for females
- Physically and mentally fit to undergo rigorous training
- With good moral character
- No pending criminal, administrative, or civil case
In addition to the above qualifications, applicants must also pass a series of entrance examinations, including the PNPA Cadet Admission Test (PCAT), the Psychological Examination, and the Physical Fitness Test.
The PCAT is a standardized test that assesses an applicant’s knowledge and skills in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The Psychological Examination is used to assess an applicant’s mental fitness and emotional stability. The Physical Fitness Test is used to assess an applicant’s physical fitness and endurance.

Benefits of a PNPA Cadet 2024
- Full scholarship grant: PNPA cadets are awarded a full scholarship grant for their four-year education and training. This includes tuition fees, board and lodging, uniforms, and other expenses.
- Monthly stipend: PNPA cadets also receive a monthly stipend to cover their personal expenses.
- Job assurance: Upon graduation, PNPA cadets are automatically employed by the government as Police Lieutenants in the PNP. They may also be assigned to other public safety agencies, such as the PPSC, BJMP, and BFP.
- Free medical and dental care: PNPA cadets are entitled to free medical and dental care while undergoing training.
- Opportunity to serve the country: PNPA cadets are trained to become future leaders in the Philippine public safety sector. They have the opportunity to serve their country and protect their fellow citizens from crime and violence.

How to Apply Online
To apply online for PNPA cadetship, you must first visit the PNPA website and create an account. Once you have created an account, you can proceed with the online application process.
Here are the steps on how to apply online for PNPA cadetship:
- Go to the PNPA website and click on the “Apply Now” button.
- Create an account by providing your personal information, such as your name, email address, and contact number.
- Once you have created an account, you will be able to access the online application form.
- Fill out the online application form carefully and accurately. Be sure to attach all required documents, including a scanned copy of your PSA Birth Certificate, PNPA BMI Certificate, and passport-sized ID picture.
- Review your application form and make sure that all information is correct.
- Click on the “Submit” button to submit your application.
You will receive a confirmation email once your application has been submitted.
After submitting your application, you will need to wait for further instructions from the PNPA. You will be notified if you have been shortlisted for the entrance examinations.
When is the Start of the Online Application ?
To apply online, you can visit the PNPA website and create an account. Once you have created an account, you can proceed with the online application process by following the steps outlined in my previous response.
When is the actual PNPACAT ?
The PNPA will make an official announcement regarding the PNPACAT schedule once it has been finalized. You can check the PNPA website or social media pages for updates.
Where will the PNPACAT be Held ?
The PNPA has not yet announced the official testing centers for the PNPACAT 2023-2024. However, in previous years, the PNPACAT has been held in various testing centers across the country, including:
- Baguio City
- Cagayan De Oro City
- Cebu City
- Davao City
- Iloilo City
- Legazpi City
- Lucena City
- Manila
- Pampanga
- San Fernando City, La Union
- Taguig City
- Tuguegarao City
The PNPA will usually announce the official testing centers around 60 days before the actual exam. You can check the PNPA website or social media pages for updates.
Once the official testing centers have been announced, you will be able to choose your testing center when you submit your online application.
Grounds for Medical Disqualifications for PNPA Admission
The following are grounds for medical disqualification for PNPA admission:
- Defective visual perception: This includes color blindness, nearsightedness and farsightedness beyond correctable limits, and nystagmus.
- Physical deformities: This includes bowlegs, knock-knees, clubfoot, and other congenital defects.
- Perforated eardrum, chronic sinusitis, bleeding tendencies, hemorrhoids, hernia (if not treated), varicocele, and extensive skin disorders.
- History of heart disease, hypertension, asthma, active PTB, kidney and liver diseases, epileptic seizure disorders, and major operations.
- Communicable diseases (such as AIDS, Hepatitis, VD, etc.).
- Full dentures, upper and lower, cleft lip and palate, malocclusion, deformities of the face, open bite, tongue-tied, missing of four (4) anterior or front teeth, and missing of six (6) posterior/molar teeth.
- Tattoos and other brotherhood marks.
- Ear piercing for males and multiple ear piercing for females.
- For females: Goiter, history of pregnancy less than one year, presence of breast mass, painful menstruation.
- Any other similar defects which may hinder the Cadetship Training Program.
It is important to note that the PNPA reserves the right to disqualify any applicant based on medical findings, even if the applicant does not meet any of the specific grounds for medical disqualification listed above.

Exemption for PNPACAT
The following are exempted from taking the PNPACAT:
- Senior High School (SHS) graduates with highest honors
- College graduates with Latin honors (summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude)
To be eligible for exemption, the applicant must have graduated from SHS or college within two years before the date of the PNPACAT. The applicant must also submit a certification of honor from their school to the PNPA Registrar’s Office before the end of the announced application period.
In addition, the applicant must also meet the other general qualifications for PNPA admission, such as being a natural-born Filipino citizen, being at least 18 years old but not more than 22 years old on the date of admission, and being physically and mentally fit to undergo rigorous training. If you are eligible for exemption from the PNPACAT, you should submit your application form and the required documents to the PNPA Registrar’s Office. You will then be scheduled for a medical examination and an interview.
Grounds for Disqualification in the Online Application
The following are grounds for disqualification in the online application for PNPA cadetship:
- When an applicant fails to meet the initial qualifications
- When an applicant deliberately inputs false and/or incorrect entries in any of the fields of the online application form
- When an applicant uploads any fraudulent document
- Incomplete entries not satisfying the online application requirements
In addition to the above grounds, the PNPA also reserves the right to disqualify any applicant for any reason, at any time, during the application and admission process.

Phases of Screening :
1. Online Application
The first phase of screening is the online application process. Applicants must create an account on the PNPA website and fill out the online application form. Applicants must also attach all required documents, including a scanned copy of their PSA Birth Certificate, PNPA BMI Certificate, and passport-sized ID picture.
2. PNPA Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT)
Applicants who successfully pass the online application will be shortlisted to take the PNPACAT. The PNPACAT is a standardized test that assesses an applicant’s knowledge and skills in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
3. Psychological Examination
Applicants who pass the PNPACAT will be required to take a psychological examination. The psychological examination is used to assess an applicant’s mental fitness and emotional stability.
4. Physical Fitness Test
Applicants who pass the psychological examination will be required to take a physical fitness test. The physical fitness test is used to assess an applicant’s physical fitness and endurance.
5. Medical Examination
Applicants who pass the physical fitness test will be required to undergo a medical examination. The medical examination is used to assess an applicant’s overall health and fitness.
6. Panel Interview
Applicants who pass the medical examination will be invited for a panel interview. The panel interview is used to assess an applicant’s personality, communication skills, and leadership potential.
7. Final Screening
The PNPA Admissions Committee will review the results of all the screening phases and make a final decision on who will be admitted to the PNPA.
Applicants who are successful in all of the screening phases will be offered a cadetship at the PNPA.
