KPTCL AE, JE & JA Exam Pattern – Common Aptitude Test

The KPTCL AE, JE & JA Exam Pattern is the same for all three posts. It is a Common Aptitude Test (CAT) that consists of four sections:

  • Section I: Technical
  • Section II: General Awareness

Section I: Technical

This section will consist of questions from the relevant engineering discipline, depending on the post you are applying for. For example, if you are applying for the post of Assistant Engineer (Electrical), the questions in this section will be from Electrical Engineering.

Section II: General Awareness

This section will consist of questions from current affairs, Indian history, culture, geography, and polity.

Section III: Aptitude & Reasoning

This section will consist of questions from verbal reasoning, numerical ability, and logical reasoning.

Section IV: General English/Kannada

This section will consist of questions from English grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.

The KPTCL AE, JE & JA Exam is a computer-based test (CBT) that is conducted for a duration of 150 minutes. There are a total of 150 questions in the exam, each carrying 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
