DWSS Punjab Junior Engineer Syllabus 2024 & DWSS Punjab JE Exam Pattern 2024 :- The Department of Water Supply & Sanitation (DWSS) Punjab is a government department responsible for providing rural water supply and sanitation services in the state of Punjab, India. The department’s ultimate aim is to provide good quality potable water through piped distribution network to all households as well as individual household latrines. Liquid waste management and low-cost sewerage in the rural areas of the state are also thrust areas of the department. Apart from this, DWSS also looks after Internal Sanitary Installations and Estate Water Supply services in Residential and Non-residential Government Buildings.

DWSS Punjab plays a pivotal role in ensuring sustainable drinking water services in rural Punjab. As per Cabinet Decision, all rural households are to be provided with piped drinking water supply and individual toilets. Increased exploitation of groundwater has resulted in deterioration of water quality and 1188 habitations have been found affected with Arsenic and Fluoride. As such, the department has planned to tap surface water in the affected villages of Patiala, Moga, Rajpura, Amritsar, and Fatehgarh Sahib.

The DWSS Punjab website provides information about the department’s various schemes and programs, as well as online services such as applying for a new water connection, paying water bills, and registering complaints. The website also includes a section on water quality monitoring and surveillance, with data on the water quality of various villages in Punjab.
