SLPLE Registration Requirement

To be Eligible to take the Speech Language Pathology Licensure Examination (SLPLE), an applicant must meet the following general requirements:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen or a foreign national holding a valid Special Temporary Resident (STR) visa issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ)
  • Must be of good moral character
  • Must have completed the following educational requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology or a related field from a recognized school, college, or university
    • Must have obtained a general weighted average (GWA) of not less than 2.00 or its equivalent
    • Must have completed a minimum of 60 units of coursework in speech pathology, which must include the following subjects:
      • Anatomy and physiology of speech
      • Speech and hearing science
      • Language development
      • Voice disorders
      • Fluency disorders
      • Child language disorders
      • Adult neurogenic language disorders
      • Audiology
      • Research methodology in speech pathology
    • Must have completed at least 300 hours of supervised clinical practice in a recognized speech-language pathology clinic or hospital
  • Must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude

In addition to the general requirements, applicants must also submit the following documents:

  • Notarized copy of birth certificate or passport
  • Certificate of good moral character from a dean or school registrar
  • Official transcript of records from the school, college, or university where the applicant obtained his/her bachelor’s degree
  • Certificate of completion of a 60-unit coursework in speech pathology
  • Certificate of completion of at least 300 hours of supervised clinical practice
  • Three (3) copies of 2×2 ID picture with white background and complete nametag
  • Original and photocopy of PRC ID, if applicable

Applicants may file their applications at the PRC Service Center located at the PRC Main Office in Pasay City. The filing period for the SLPLE is usually from June to July of each year. The examination is usually held in August.
