Eligibility Criteria for SASSA Payment 2024 

Candidates who want to grab the opportunity for the SASSA opportunity need to fulfill some eligibility criteria. To apply for SASSA Payment, given below are the Eligibility Criteria for SASSA Payment 2024:

• Candidates should be a citizen of South Africa.  
• Candidates should not have any SASSA Social Grant in addition to SASSA Payments. 
• Candidate’s income per year should not be more than Rs. 86,280.
• The age criteria for the candidates is 60 years or older than that. 
• If the candidate who wants to apply for the Childcare Grants SASSA Payments, the children’s age should be less than 18 years.

Types of SASSA Payment 2024

The South African Social Security Agency grants a total 3 Types of SASSA Payment 2024 to the citizens of South Africa. 

• Older People Benefits: Candidates for this payment who are 60 years old or more than that and are unable to work for living can apply for SASSA Payment 2024. The people who fall between 60 years to 75 years get R 2080 and people who are more than 75 years get R 2100 on monthly basis.

• Disability Grants: South African Social Security Agency Payment is available to people with physical or mental disabilities who are unable to work for more than 6 months. If their disabilities last more than a year, they are eligible for lifelong payment while the people who have disabilities for 6 to 12 months will have temporary payment. The payment they receive is R 2080. 

• Childcare Support Grants: South African Social Security Agency also provides payment to the candidates who are eligible as a support to raise the child and take care of them. For the payment, Candidate should be the primary carer of the child i.e. Parent, Grandparent or the child more than 16 years who is the head of the house. Every child receives R 500 on a monthly basis.

• Social Relief Distress (SRD) Grants: Citizens of South Africa, refugees, asylum seekers and special permits holders get Social Relief Distress (SRD) Grants of R 350 payment from 23rd February, 2024 to 29th February, 2024 who fall between 18 years to 60 years.

• Check out the official SASSA website.
• Next on the homepage, find their benefits programmes. 
• Then select the type of SASSA Payment or programme candidates want to apply for as per their situation and age criteria. 
• Next the candidates need to fill the application form  including the details like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Category, Age etc. 
• Then Candidates are required to submit some supporting documents as a proof for validation.
• After all the required fields are filled, click on the submit button.
• In the timespan of 2 months, candidates will start receiving their confirmation.
