Samurdhi Name List 2024 www.samurdhi.gov.lk | Samurdhi Aswesuma Beneficiaries District List : Samurdhi Aswesuma is a new social safety net program introduced by the Sri Lankan government in 2023 to alleviate the ongoing economic crisis. It is a combination of the existing Samurdhi program and a new program called Aswesuma.

The Samurdhi program was launched in 1995 to provide financial assistance to low-income families and help them lift themselves out of poverty. The Aswesuma program was launched in 2023 to provide additional assistance to families who are struggling to meet their basic needs due to the economic crisis.

Samurdhi Aswesuma Provides monthly cash payments to eligible beneficiaries, as well as other benefits such as free or subsidized healthcare, education, and vocational training. The program is targeted at four social categories: transitional, vulnerable, poor, and extremely poor.

  • Transitional beneficiaries are those who have recently fallen into poverty due to unforeseen circumstances, such as job loss or illness. They are eligible for benefits for up to two years.
  • Vulnerable beneficiaries are those who are at risk of falling into poverty. They are eligible for benefits for up to three years.
  • Poor beneficiaries are those who are living below the poverty line. They are eligible for benefits for an indefinite period of time.
  • Extremely poor beneficiaries are those who are living in extreme poverty. They are eligible for increased benefits for up to three years.

To be Eligible for Samurdhi Aswesuma, beneficiaries must be Sri Lankan citizens and must meet certain income and asset criteria. Applications for the program can be submitted to the Samurdhi Development Officer in the beneficiary’s area.

The Samurdhi Aswesuma program is still in its early stages of implementation, but it is expected to benefit millions of Sri Lankans who are struggling to make ends meet due to the economic crisis.

Every Year Samurdhi Department Bring Social benefits to Needy People. This Study Analyzes the Effectiveness of the Samurdhi program. now after the Samurdhi Program, the People of Sri Lanka Looking for the Aswasuma Welfare Benefits program. However, the Aswesuma Program Welfare Benefit program, Initiated by the President as part of the Social Safety net to alleviate the ongoing Crisis. Under the supervision of Finance Minister Sema Semesinghe with the Involvement of Various Governments Agencies.

Throughout the Samurdhi Aswesuma Program Financial Assistance will be provided to the lower-income group, Comprising 40% of the Society across four categories and the Government aims to offer Rs.15000 per month to families falling under the extremely poor category. However, protests have erupted over the Selection of names for the Aswesuma Welfare Benefit Scheme which is Scheduled to be Implemented on 01 Or 10 July 2023.

How to Check Aswesuma Samurdhi Name List 2024 ?

There are two ways to check the Aswesuma Samurdhi Name List 2024:
  1. Online:

    • Visit the Samurdhi Welfare Benefits Programme website at https://wbb.gov.lk
    • Click on the “Aswesuma Name List” tab.
    • Enter your NIC number and click on the “Check” button.
  2. In person:

    • Visit the Samurdhi Development Officer in your area.
    • Provide them with your NIC number and ask them to check the Aswesuma Name List for you.

If your name is on the list, you are eligible for the Aswesuma Samurdhi program. You can then contact your Samurdhi Development Officer to learn more about the program and how to receive your benefits.
