To be Eligible for Aswasuma benefits, households must meet the following criteria:
- The household income must be less than Rs. 50,000 per month.
- The household must have at least one member who is unemployed or underemployed.
- The household must not own any land or property.
Individuals who are eligible for Aswasuma benefits include:
- The elderly (60 years and above) who are not receiving any other form of pension or social security benefits.
- Persons with disabilities who are not receiving any other form of disability allowance.
- Kidney patients who are undergoing dialysis treatment.
The Aswasuma name list is divided into three categories:
- Transitional Beneficiaries: These are households that were previously receiving Samurdhi benefits. They will receive Aswasuma benefits for a period of one year.
- Vulnerable beneficiaries: These are households that are not currently receiving any form of welfare benefits. They will receive Aswasuma benefits for a period of two years.
