It is similar to Educational Testing Service (ETS) in the United States. NTS is a member of the International Association for Educational Assessment. It is also recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
NTS was formed in 1976 to ensure quality educational standards in Pakistan and to “provide a national scale for comparative grading between institutes”, consolidating examination boards under one administrating body. According to Shahid Siddiqui, director of The Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences at the Lahore School of Economics, tests implemented prior to the development of the NTS were criticized as not accommodating socio-cultural differences, resulting in a need for “an indigenous testing service that should design and develop testing materials within an indigenous context”.
NTS offers a variety of tests, including:
- National Aptitude Test (NAT): This test is aimed at students seeking admission to colleges and universities.
- Graduate Assessment Test (GAT): This test is aimed at graduates seeking admission to postgraduate education.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): This test is used to assess the English language proficiency of non-native speakers.
- Public Service Commission (PSC) Competitive Examination: This test is used to select candidates for government jobs.
- Armed Forces Selection Tests: These tests are used to select candidates for the Pakistan Armed Forces.
NTS tests are held throughout Pakistan at various test centers. To apply for an NTS test, you can visit the NTS website or contact the NTS office in your city.

The National Testing Service (NTS) announced the results of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) Vaccinator Test 2023 on June 25, 2023. The test was held on Saturday, the 10th, Sunday, the 11th, and Sunday, the 18th of June 2023. Candidates can check their results by entering their CNIC number on the NTS website.
To check your results, you can follow these steps:
- Go to the NTS website: https://www.nts.org.pk
- Click on the “All Results” tab.
- Enter your CNIC number in the search bar.
- Click on the “Submit” button.
Your results will be displayed on the screen. If you have passed the test, you will see a message that says “Congratulations, you have passed the test.” You will also be able to download a PDF file containing your results.
