NVS Class 6 Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The NVS Class 6 Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria is as follows:
- Age: Students must be born between May 1, 2012, and July 31, 2014.
- Education: Students must be studying in Class V in a government or government-aided school in rural areas during the academic year 2023-24.
- Domicile: Students must be domiciled in the state in which they are applying for admission.
Rural areas: As per the NVS guidelines, rural areas are defined as:
- Areas not included in the municipal limits of a city or town with a population of 10,000 or more.
- Areas which are not included within the revenue limits of a notified area committee.
- Areas which have a population of less than 5,000 and are not within the revenue limits of a Gram Panchayat or Municipal Corporation.
Reserved categories: The following categories are reserved in NVS Class 6 admission:
- Scheduled Castes (SCs): 15%
- Scheduled Tribes (STs): 7.5%
- Other Backward Classes (OBCs): 27%
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs): 10%
- Persons with Disabilities (PwDs): 3%
Note: There is no age relaxation for any reserved categories.
JNV Class 6 Admission 2024 Reservation Policy
The JNV Class 6 Admission 2024 Reservation Policy is as follows:
- Scheduled Castes (SCs): 15%
- Scheduled Tribes (STs): 7.5%
- Other Backward Classes (OBCs): 27%
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs): 10%
- Persons with Disabilities (PwDs): 3%
The reservation policy is applied to the total number of seats available in each district. For example, if there are 100 seats available in a district, then 15 seats will be reserved for SC students, 7.5 seats will be reserved for ST students, and so on.
Within each reserved category, seats are allocated on the basis of merit. For example, if there are 15 seats available for SC students, then the top 15 SC students will be selected, irrespective of their caste or religion.
If there are not enough qualified candidates in a particular reserved category, the unfilled seats will be transferred to the general category. However, the total number of seats reserved for SCs, STs, OBCs, EWSs, and PwDs cannot be less than 50%.
Note: There is no age relaxation for any reserved categories.
