GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Exam Results 2024 : GCE O/L Exam Result 2024 :- The results of the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination 2024 were released on July 12, 2024. The results were released online at the Department of Examinations website, www.doenets.lk.

A total of 293,260 students sat for the A/L Examinations this year, out of which 221,853 passed. The pass rate was 75.8%, which is slightly lower than the pass rate of 77.4% in 2024.

The highest number of passes was recorded in the Commerce stream, with a pass rate of 81.2%. The Science stream had a pass rate of 76.7%, while the Arts stream had a pass rate of 72.7%.

The top three schools in the island with the highest number of passes were:

  1. Ananda College, Colombo
  2. Royal College, Colombo
  3. Nalanda College, Colombo

The top three students in the island with the highest aggregate marks were:

  1. Sandaruwan Liyanage (Commerce, Ananda College)
  2. Gayan Gunawardhana (Science, Royal College)
  3. Buddhika Ranasinghe (Arts, Nalanda College)

The results of the A/L Examinations are an important stepping stone for students who wish to pursue higher education. The results will also determine the eligibility of students for scholarships and other academic opportunities.

The GCE Advanced Level (A/L) consists of 6 subjects in the first year and 4 subjects in the second year. However, students can choose to study more than 4 subjects in the second year, if they wish.

How to Check GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination Results 2024

There are a few ways to check your GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination Results 2024.

Online

  • You can check your results online at the Department of Examinations website, www.doenets.lk.
  • To do this, you will need your index number and date of birth.
  • Once you have entered your details, you will be able to view your results.

SMS

  • You can also check your results by SMS.
  • To do this, you will need to send an SMS to 1919 with the following format:
    • A/L<space>Index Number<space>Date of Birth
  • For example, to check the results for an index number 123456789 and date of birth 01/01/1999, you would send the following SMS:
    • A/L 123456789 01011999
  • You will then receive an SMS with your results.

Mobile App

  • The Department of Examinations also has a mobile app that you can use to check your results.
  • The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
  • Once you have downloaded the app, you will need to create an account and enter your index number and date of birth.
  • Once you have logged in, you will be able to view your results.
