G.C.E O/L Result 2024 Release at doenets.lk 2024 ol Results Department of Examination Sri Lanka :- The General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination (GCE O/L) is an important public examination in Sri Lanka that marks the completion of secondary education. It is usually taken by students in Grade 10 or 11, typically at the age of 15 or 16. The examination is conducted by the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka and is held in three mediums: Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the GCE O/L examination, candidates must have:
- Completed Grade 9 education

Subjects
The GCE O/L examination consists of six compulsory subjects and three optional subjects. The compulsory subjects are:

Examination Format
The GCE O/L examination is conducted over a period of two weeks, with each subject being tested in a separate paper. The examination format is as follows:
- Paper 1: Multiple-choice questions
- Paper 2: Short-answer questions
- Paper 3: Essay-type questions
Grading
The GCE O/L examination is graded on a scale of A to E, with A being the highest grade and E being the lowest grade. Candidates who obtain a grade of C or higher in at least five subjects, including Mathematics and Sinhala/Tamil/English, are considered to have passed the examination.

The results of the GCE O/L examination are usually released in March of the following year. Candidates can access their results online or by post.
