1. Stimulate and entice talented Filipino youth to pursue careers in Science and Technology:

  • The program aims to address the Philippines’ need for a skilled workforce in science and technology fields. By providing financial assistance and other benefits, the DOST hopes to encourage students with potential and aptitude to choose these fields, contributing to a stronger S&T sector in the country.

2. Ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources for national progress:

The S&T Undergraduate Scholarship specifically focuses on students pursuing Bachelor’s degrees in science and technology-related fields. It offers comprehensive financial support, including:

  • Tuition and other school fees subsidy: The DOST covers the tuition fees and other school-related expenses, removing a significant financial burden for students.
  • Monthly stipend: Scholars receive a monthly stipend to help with living expenses and other needs.
  • Additional benefits: Depending on the specific program, scholars may also receive other benefits such as book allowance, uniform allowance, graduation allowance, and travel allowance.

By providing this support, the DOST aims to attract and retain talented students in S&T fields, ultimately contributing to a more innovative and technologically advanced Philippines.
