There are four categories of beneficiaries under the Aswasuma program:

- Vulnerable beneficiaries: These are families who are living below the poverty line. They will receive Rs. 5,000 per month until March 31, 2024.
- Poor beneficiaries: These are families who are living just above the poverty line. They will receive Rs. 8,500 per month.
- Extremely poor beneficiaries: These are families who are in extreme poverty. They will receive Rs. 15,000 per month for three years.
The Aswasuma program is being implemented by the Welfare Benefits Board (WBB). The WBB has been tasked with identifying eligible beneficiaries and disbursing the benefits. The benefits will be deposited directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Aswasuma Payment Method :
The Aswasuma welfare benefit payments will be made through the following methods:
- Direct deposit into bank accounts: This is the most common method of payment. The beneficiaries’ bank account details will be collected by the Welfare Benefits Board (WBB) and the benefits will be deposited directly into their accounts.
- Over-the-counter payments: This method is available for beneficiaries who do not have bank accounts. The benefits can be collected in cash from designated post offices or banks.
- Mobile money payments: This method is available for beneficiaries who have mobile money accounts. The benefits can be credited to their mobile money accounts and withdrawn as cash from ATMs or used to make payments.
The WBB will notify the beneficiaries of the payment method that will be used for them. The payments will be made in installments, with the first installment being made on July 1st, 2023.

How to Check Aswasuma Welfare Name List 2024
- Go to the Welfare Benefits Board (WBB) website: www.wbb.gov.lk
- Click on the “Aswesuma Welfare” tab.
- Click on the “Check Beneficiary List” button.
- Enter your name and date of birth.
- Click on the “Search” button.
If your name appears on the list, you are a beneficiary of the Aswesuma Welfare Program. You will receive the benefits in installments, with the first installment being made on July 1, 2024.
The WBB website also provides a list of the districts and divisional secretariats where the Aswesuma Welfare Name List 2024 is available in hard copy. You can contact the relevant district or divisional secretariat to check your name on the list.
